Penyuluhan Perilaku Buang Air Besar Sembarangan di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Tamalatea

Abstract

The majority of Tamalatea people do not have toilets in their homes. This condition makes them prefer to defecate in the trash behind the house, garden and in the view. They think this action makes them easy and practical. The aim of this research is to determine the factors that influence open defecation behavior in the working area of the Tamalatea Community Health Center, Tamalatea District, Jeneponto City. The sampling technique used in this research was random. This research uses univariate and bivariate methods in analyzing data. The research results show that the knowledge variable (p value = 0.002 or X_h^2 = 9.915), the variable having a toilet (p value = 0.000 or The conclusion of this research is that all variables of knowledge, having a latrine, and habit have an influence on the practice of free open defecation. This is because the p-value of all variables is smaller than 0.05 or X_h^2>X_t^2 (3.841). It is recommended that people get used to defecating in family or public toilets so that this action can eliminate this opinion. so that open defection-free is easy and practical. Defect-free opening behavior may cause problems later.
