Peningkatan Pengetahuan Ibu Hamil Tentang ASI Eksklusif di Puskesmas Bonto Marannu

Abstract

Breastfeeding behavior is related to lack of knowledge, beliefs or perceptions and wrong attitudes of mothers regarding breastfeeding, so family support, health workers and the community are needed so that mothers can breastfeed exclusively. This activity intends to educate mothers about the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for pregnant women and mothers who have children less than 6 months to have better knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding. The methods for implementing the Community Service Program are lectures, discussions and demonstrations. The number of participants attending this training amounted to 50 people consisting of 38 women and 12 health cadres (one RW represented by two health cadres). The training time is held on Thursday, October 03, 2019, located at Bonto Marannu Kabupaten Gowa. The material presented in this activity uses the lecture method and discussion including: understanding of breastfeeding, understanding of exclusive breastfeeding, the type and composition of breast milk, the benefits of breastfeeding, breast milk production, correct breastfeeding steps, seven successes of exclusive breastfeeding and exclusive breastfeeding for working mothers. After this training activity, it is expected that the family and health cadres can play an active role in conveying information to pregnant women about the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding.
