Abstract

One of the risks that can occur in pregnant women if there is no preparation for delivery, namely psychological disorders, after giving birth the mother will experience several changes, both physical changes and psychological changes. Some mothers can adjust and some others cannot adjust properly. The community service method is carried out by providing information through counseling using lecture, discussion, and question and answer methods to groups of third trimester pregnant women who have attended as many as 25 people. Pregnant women participate in activities according to health protocols by washing their hands, wearing masks, and keeping their distance from one another. Activities are carried out in June -August 2020, where the activities are carried out in Tompobulu Village, Bantaeng sub-district, outside the city. The results of the pretest showed that only 3 (12%) of pregnant women had good knowledge about preparing for childbirth in the midst of the coid-19 pandemic and the results of the post- test increased after being given counseling and discussion to 21 (84%) of pregnant women about preparing for childbirth in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, the results of the evaluation through observation showed that pregnant women were enthusiastic and enthusiastic in discussing. Based on these results, it can be concluded that community service activities are able to make changes in a less knowledgeable community to increase after being given counseling using the discussion method and Brain Storming and increasing pregnant women's awareness in preparation for childbirth during the COVID-19 pandemic in Tompo Bulu Village, Jambi District outside the city.
