Penyuluhan Sadari Dalam Pencegahan Kanker Payudara Pada Siswi di SMA N 1 Barru

Breast cancer ranks first among inpatients throughout Indonesia (16.85%), followed by cervical cancer (11.78%). The highest cancer suffered by Indonesian women is breast cancer with an incidence rate of 26 per 100,000 women. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death for women after cervical cancer. One of the targets of efforts to prevent breast cancer is young women. The purpose of this activity is to provide health education about breast examination and increase the knowledge of young women so that it will improve their health status. The results obtained were an increase in knowledge from those who did not know to know the students of SMAN 1 Barru about self-breast care (BSE). This is because the students are very enthusiastic in participating in counseling which in practice uses lecture methods, discussions, questions and answers as well as demonstrations of techniques for performing BSE massage. Counseling is an effective method of increasing one's knowledge.
