Abstract

Basic Life Assistance (BHD) is a set of interventions or actions taken to save the lives of victims or patients who are experiencing cardiac and/or respiratory arrest. BHD consists of several aspects including recognition of sudden cardiac arrest and activating the emergency response system, cardiopulmonary resuscitation/external cardiac massage which is better known as early CPR, defibrillation using an automated external defibrillator (AED).

Recommendations from the 2020 AHA which state that it is important to initiate ordinary people to perform CPR by providing training or education related to CPR based on the OHCA algorithm set by the 2020 AHA.
