Penyuluhan Dan Edukasi Tentang Pemanfaatan Tanaman Herbal Untuk Kesehatan Gigi Dan Gusi Di kelurahan Maccini Raya

Abstract

Introduction: Dental and oral health are parts of body health that cannot be separated from each other. If dental and oral health is disturbed, it will affect bodily health, thereby affecting the quality of human resources. One of the dental and oral health problems that often occurs in children and adults is cavities. This is also due to a lack of knowledge on how to maintain oral health and cleanliness. and lack of knowledge of proper dental and oral hygiene and health. And knowledge of herbal plants that can be used for dental and oral health.
Objective: To find out more about the knowledge and level of dental and oral health knowledge in the community in Maccini Raya Village. Apart from that, this activity also aims to increase knowledge about dental and gum health which includes, caring for teeth and gums, being able to use herbal plants for healthy teeth and gums and knowing about tooth and gum disease and how to deal with it.
Method: Education on healthy teeth and gums with educational materials provided in the form of the correct way to brush teeth, how to maintain healthy teeth and gums and the use of herbal plants to treat tooth and gum pain.
Results: Of the 23 participants who took part in community service, they found that there was a lack of public knowledge about tooth and gum disease and how to overcome it with herbal plants.
Conclusion: The level of knowledge and awareness of dental health in the Maccini Raya sub-district increased after the outreach was carried out.
