Abstract

Dental and oral health plays an important role in overall body health. Maintaining oral health can be done in various ways, including brushing your teeth at least twice a day, having your teeth checked by a dentist every 6 months, and eating foods rich in vitamins and minerals, such as fruit. Makassar is an area that produces local fruit such as podang mangoes, pineapples, oranges, bananas, durian. This community service involves carrying out oral dental examinations and providing information on the use of fruit for dental and oral health, which. carried out at the Malika Farma Pharmacy. The target of this community service is the children of the Putera Bahagia Orphanage, Aisyiah Makassar Branch. The activity was carried out in 2 sessions, the morning session by conducting oral dental examinations on children and the afternoon session by providing education on the use of local fruit for oral health, giving questionnaires, and ending with giving door prizes. Children are enthusiastic about taking part in oral dental examinations and counseling. After counseling, the children were given a quiz, and door prizes were awarded for those who answered correctly. From this community service activity, it was found that children's understanding of how to maintain oral health and the benefits of fruit for dental and oral health has increased.
