Penyuluhan Dan Pemberian Aplikasi Flouride Varnish Untuk Meningkatkan Pengetahuan Anak Dalam Mencegah Karies Gigi

School-aged children are a high risk group for tooth decay. One of the factors that influence the occurrence of dental caries in children is because they like to eat and drink sweet drinks so they rarely clean their teeth. Apart from that, the level of knowledge and awareness of maintaining dental and oral health is low and not yet understood. Elementary schools should have dental health maintenance programs, one of which is preventing dental caries in elementary school children. The aim of community service activities is to provide education and provide fluoride varnish applications to increase children's knowledge in preventing dental caries. The target partners for community service activities are school principals and students of grades IV and V at SD Inpres Mariso 2 and SD Inpres Mariso 3, Mariso District. The form of community service activities is through advocacy, education on the prevention of dental caries and the application of fluoride varnish. The results of the activity had an impact, namely the implementation of advocacy activities, counseling and good practice of applying fluoride varnish, increasing children's knowledge and skills in preventing dental caries through the application of fluoride varnish. Conclusion: The series of activities to prevent dental caries with the application of fluoride varnish were well implemented for students in grades IV and V at SD Inpres Mariso 2 and SD Inpres Mariso 3, Mariso District.
