Abstract

Persons with Disabilities are any person who experiences physical, intellectual, mental and/or sensory limitations for a long period of time who, in interacting with the environment, may experience obstacles and difficulties in participating fully and effectively with other citizens based on equal rights. Children with special needs, including those with Down syndrome, generally have problems with the growth and health of their teeth, the most common of which are cavities, irregular tooth alignment, and gum tissue disease. These disorders are exacerbated by the difficulty of children maintaining healthy teeth and mouth independently. Considering that the risk of caries affects the child's growth and development process and is supported by parents' ignorance about dental health, it is important to do early prevention, namely through parental understanding and participation. This community service is carried out through outreach using lecture methods and demonstration methods, targeting children and their mothers as the audience.
