Pelatihan Pembuatan Herbarium Sebagai Salah Satu Pengembangan Media Pembelajaran Biologi Berbasis Lingkungan Di SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Dan 3 Makassar

Abstract

This activities of the public service held at Muhammadiyah 1 and 2 High Schools Makassar in February 2022 aim to train students and teachers in making simple herbariums as environmentally based biology learning media. Herbarium is a plant preservation technique. Knowledge in the making and maintenance of this herbarium needs to be known for students and teachers in high school and equivalent, considering that one of the biological subject is plant morphology. With this herbarium media, students and teachers can understand the characteristics of plants without always picking fresh plants. By using plants that are in the school environment or where they live, students can make a simple herbarium. This activity of the public service was held for one day involving the teachers of biology and students of class X and class XII and continued one more day for evaluation to determine the success rate of making herbariums. Evaluation will be carried out when the plant is completely dry. The results of this dedication activity are very good. This can be seen from the enthusiasm of the students who always want to get involved in every stage of making the herbarium. In addition, the stakeholder of school, teachers and principals, showed an open attitude, cooperation, and good remarks, so that these activities could take place smoothly and beneficially. Suggestions from this activity are that the school really hopes that there will be other activities related to collaboration between schools and the dedication team in particular, and in general with universities.
