Abstract

A person's awareness of maintaining the health of his teeth and mouth is one of the actions to improve his overall health, because this can affect the quality of his life, such as the function of his teeth and mouth when pronouncing words and also chewing food, and can increase his self-confidence. A person can clean their teeth and mouth chemically, namely by gargling with a brew of clove leaves, because cloves are useful for suppressing the growth of streptococcus mutans germs. The aim of this community service is to increase knowledge about dental and oral health in Class VI students at SD Negeri 03, Soppeng. This method of implementing community service is in collaboration with the SD Negeri 03 school, Soppeng. Especially for class VI students, totaling 51 people. The purpose of implementing this activity is to achieve a program to improve dental and oral health for students. The steps taken in this service include: first, preparing a plan, then surveying the location. Next, the activity was carried out, where respondents received education about how to maintain healthy teeth and mouth by the Team, then continued with the activity of gargling with clove leaves. The results of the activity show that there is very high participation from the school. The students who were respondents were very cooperative in giving themselves to take part in this activity. Respondents initially did not really understand how to maintain healthy teeth, but after being educated, their knowledge increased. Conclusion: The implementation of Community Service can run smoothly and class VI students have carried out the action of gargling with clove leaves.
