Gambaran Tingkat Pengetahuan Menyikat Gigi Anak yang Diberi Penyuluhan dengan Metode Ceramah dan Bermain Peran (Role Play)

Abstract

Maintaining oral and dental hygiene can be done by brushing your teeth regularly with the correct brushing technique, time and frequency. A lecture is an event to convey information orally to a target which can be done directly or indirectly. Role playing is an extension method in which researchers play roles using hand puppets and have to act out one or several specific roles. This type of research is descriptive research using a survey method which aims to determine the level of toothbrushing knowledge of children who are given counseling between lecture and role play methods. The location of this research is UPT SPF SDN Kassi, Manggala District. The sample in this study consisted of 32 people selected from class V. The data collection method used questionnaires and checklist sheets to observe the children's level of knowledge before and after the intervention. Data analysis uses univariate analysis by presenting proportion data in a frequency distribution table. The results of the research showed that the level of knowledge of students before being given counseling using the lecture method increased to 93.75% with good criteria, compared to previously 56.25%, while with the Role Play method, all students (100%) increased his knowledge. The conclusion of this research is that the role play method is greater in increasing students' knowledge compared to the lecture method of counseling.
